Eco-Schools: the global standard of excellence in sustainability education.
Since September 2021, our school has been on a transformative journey. We haven’t just been teaching ecology; we’ve been living it. By developing permaculture projects, we have turned our green campus into a vibrant, living laboratory. Here, learning happens in the heart of nature, allowing students to experiment, observe, and grow alongside the ecosystem they inhabit.
A Mission Beyond the Classroom
In our community, ecology is much more than a theoretical concept—it is our core mission. We are incredibly proud to announce that our dedication has been officially recognized: our school has been awarded the prestigious Eco-School label.
This international accreditation is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability. However, the label is not the finish line; it is a catalyst. We strive daily to raise awareness and empower our students to move beyond being spectators, encouraging them to become true agents of ecological change.
The Power of the « Zero-Waste Snack »
As we celebrate our status as an Eco-School, we must look at the small, daily habits that define our environmental footprint. One of our primary focuses this year is the importance of zero-waste snacks.
While a single plastic wrapper might seem insignificant, the cumulative effect of hundreds of students snacking daily is monumental. Transitioning to zero-waste snacks is one of the most effective ways for children to practice ecology in their everyday lives.
- Why it matters: It reduces the volume of single-use plastics entering our oceans and landfills.
- The Goal: We encourage the use of reusable containers, stainless steel water bottles, and fresh, unpackaged fruits.
- The Impact: By choosing a zero-waste snack, students learn that their individual choices have a direct, positive impact on the planet.
« Sustainability isn’t just a lesson we teach; it’s a lifestyle we model. »
By bridging the gap between our large-scale permaculture projects and our daily lunchtime habits, we are fostering a generation that understands the delicate balance of nature. We invite all parents and students to join us in this essential mission. Together, we are not just dreaming of a greener future—we are planting the seeds for it today.
