Qualifications
In accordance with European School regulations, teachers must hold a recognized teaching qualification for the level they teach.
As an international school, the qualification does not need to be Belgian, but it must be equivalent to the qualifications required in European countries.
Role description
Secondary teachers are responsible for:
- delivering the European Schools’ secondary and IB curriculum,
- managing the class and supporting pupils’ academic and social development,
- maintaining regular communication with parents, including meetings and follow-up, and
- contributing to the overall educational life of the school.
Experience
- Previous experience as a teacher is preferred.
- Experience in a European School is not required.

School Support Assistant (Auxiliaire de Vie Scolaire)

Role description
The school support assistants :
- Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs, helping them participate fully in classroom activities.
- Assist students with academic tasks, organization, communication, and social integration.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual student needs under the guidance of teachers and specialists.
- Support students’ independence, confidence, and personal development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized education plans.
- Assist with classroom management and ensured a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and reported observations to teaching staff.
